After speaking with many patients, several requested that I set up a place where they could tell their stories. I have set aside this area so that their stories, in their own words would be relayed to the world. The following are the patients' unedited comments. Dear Dr. Maller,
The last 5 1/2 years after the eye surgery nightmare, my life has been full of darkness, pain that
is inescapable, reduced to a useless being in society, a build up of negative experiences leading me
and pushing me into a corner not to trust anybody, worst of all being treated like a vision wreck, and
all I have been praying and asking for is simply some help. I want to personally thank you for reaching
out to HELP ME! You are a physician and contact lens "genius" who is professional, highly motivated, very
skilled in your field, intelligent, but most of all your bed side manner is outstanding... caring, compassionate,
positive and allowing me the first time in 5 1/2 years to not allow constant FEAR in my heart to control my
life since all of the functional vision loss. Functional vision loss and the physical daily eye muscle spasm
headaches have literally killed my spirit to live and working with you for 2 weeks has given me hope for a
day by day approach to my life.
You are a brilliant and unique physician and a good man. I am certainly "blessed" to be under your care for contact lens therapy.
